Hello.... Welcome to the brand new Loquat site! We’re nesting here quite nicely, thanks.
For those of you who have asked when the new album, It’s Yours to Keep, will be coming out in the U.S, the UK, Japan and elsewhere, we finally know what’s up! We don’t like to jinx ourselves, so we’ll wait until the ink dries before we let the cat out of the bag, but expect the album to drop domestically in late March 2005.
In the meantime, if you live in Spain, Portugal or Mexico, you can find the release out of Dearstereofan records: www.dearstereofan.com. It’s available on import from the site.
Our next shows coming up should be sometime in Jan., so stay tuned!
Love, Loquat

Hello.... It’s Yours to Keep is now out in Spain and Portugal, and we’ll start putting some of the translated press on our site soon. In case you’re up between 10am and 12pm Madrid, Spain time, you can hear a presentation of different songs from our album all this week on National Spanish Radio, Radio 3, Siglo 21: http://www.rtve.es/rne/r3/escuchar.htm. That’s 2am for us San Franciscans, so we’ll have to have toothpicks holding our eyes open....
For info about getting an early import of our album, please check our Spanish label’s site: www.dearstereofan.com. And please stay tuned about the American release. We’re sorry that it’s released so far from our neck of the woods, but it’ll land here soon.
Also, please stay tuned for our newly designed site, set to launch later this month. A couple of our new songs, as well as our Smiths cover, will be downloadable or streamable on the site.
Lastly, we’re practicing and polishing up a few new songs to play live in the Bay Area. Our next show is Nov. 21st at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco, opening for Evan Dando from The Lemonheads. It’s an early 18 and over show! More info here.

So the It’s Yours to Keep CDs are back from the manufacturer... but they’re in Spain, so we can’t tell you how they turned out. Heh heh.... However, we’ll have more news about how to obtain a copy soon. The Spanish/Portugal release is out Oct. 1. Go to www.dearstereofan.com for more info. The full site should launch this weekend and should be both in Spanish and English. As for our site redesign, that’s also happening and should be up toward the end of next month.
Also, check out the interview with us in the recent Slap magazine! http://www.slapmagazine.com
Who knew pop music and skateboarders went together so well?! At any rate, we’re honored to be featured alongside Bjork in the issue!
Finally, please come check out our show next Thursday at 12 Galaxies with the Junior Panthers and RykardaParasol. It’s our last show in San Francisco for a while, as we’re setting some new plans into action. More info here:

Hell, yes. There was blood, sweat, tears and temporary deafness, but we’re done with our album. At the moment, it’s in Nashville getting mastered. And then it’s off to Spain’s Dearstereofan label in Madrid. The official release date is September 28th, and it will be distributed in Spain, Portugal and Mexico. As for an import, we’re just about to work on solidifying the U.S. deal, so we won’t have news about that for a bit.
Come see us at the Independent in San Francisco if you’re in town. We’re playing Saturday the 7th with Death of the Party and The Red Thread.
And stay tuned, as we’re going to redesign our site with some crazy Flash action....

Oh, the lies. The lies and betrayal! We’re still not done with the album. And while we’re still unable to go out or even do our laundry, it’s better that we get this right. Because to work on an album for a year and mix it in one week is just dumb. But the album is still coming out at the end of Sept. or first week of Oct. on Dearstereofan in Spain. And now we’re in the process of doing second mixes and so on. So the lies won’t continue.
Before the Momentum is now sold out. Thanks for all your orders. For now, we still have some Penny Drop EPs left as well as T-shirts. But as you know, we’re working on getting more songs out the door. So there’s more to come.... Okay, back to the mixing.

I know we said we’d be done with the album (It’s Yours to Keep) by July 10th, but we discovered that we didn’t give ourselves enough time to mix, and being that it’s the hardest part, we need the time! But we have to have the album at the manufacturer in Spain before the end of the month, so we can’t push it much longer. Someone just relayed a quote to me by some musician (I know, I’m being very vague): “Albums are never finished; they’re abandoned.” And I couldn’t agree more. It’s very hard to let it go. We just know that this bird isn’t ready to be kicked out of the nest yet. But we’re getting ever closer. We’re totally done by the 21st of this month—no extensions beyond that. Next time, we’re going to ask for help, I think....
So the press part of the site is a little neglected, but we did add a jankily-translated review of Before the Momentum from a Mexican eZine called Radio Neurotica. Speaking of Before the Momentum, we’re down to our last 10 or so copies, so it looks like we’re about sold out of that. And The Penny Drop is down to 20 or so copies, so that’s also drying up. Good thing we’re getting this album done, or we’d have nothing to show for ourselves. But if you like vinyl, there are still copies of our Fall release at www.dreamsbydegrees.com. As for shows, we’ve got one coming up at The Independent in SF on August 7th. More info to come.
