    • Merry Christmas and happy holidays! Before we go eat and eat and party, we wanted to tell you that the new shirts are done. Go to loquatmusic.com/tshirts.html to get one. Hopefully see you at one of our Jan. shows in San Francisco or on tour of the Southwest in March.

    • Time, it surely flies. We have the master for our new album, Secrets of the Sea, and we’re working on a slew of videos for the album, which is a new thing for us. We’re also going to start playing live a bunch (even out of town, finally!) and will have news about the album release soon. Also, we’ll be rolling out a new design for t-shirts shortly.

But first and foremost, we have a brand-new song from the album for you to hear. It’s called “Sit Sideways.” Check it out at www.myspace.com/loquat! Please help us get the momentum going in San Francisco by e-mailing DJ Aaron Axelson and requesting “Sit Sideways” on Live 105’s Sunday show, Soundcheck: aaron@live105.come

    • After a year and a half, we pretty much finished recording the album last night! Ah, relief. We still have some mixing to do, but there will be some celebrating this weekend. Some news: go to myspace.com/loquat and check out our blog for a short video documentary from Sony Pictures/Crackle. Check out our show at the Rickshaw Stop in SF Sept. 28, and enter this Loquat t-shirt design contest here.

    • Happy almost 4th of July. It’s less than two weeks until our first big show in a long time (with our producers the Rondo Brothers, as well as Foxtail Sommersault), on Saturday, July 14. If you’re planning on being in San Francisco, you can buy your tickets here.

Also, I (Kylee) finally fixed our online “merch” store after much frustration. I am certainly no HTML genius, but everything is finally working like it should. Grab a t-shirt before they run out, as we’re going to be launching a whole new design soon. And if you’re not in the U.S., no worries. Go ahead and order what you like; don’t worry about extra shipping costs. The next phase is for me to figure out that damn international shipping button....

    • Hello hello.... Loquat is full-steam ahead. We’ll be finishing our second album (still mulling over the title for it) in the next couple months and playing a big show coming up on Bastille Day, Saturday, July 14 in San Francisco. It’s Rondo Brothers’ record-release party for their album, Seven Minutes to Midnight; Loquat will be debuting a lot of new songs from its new album (produced by Rondo Brothers); and Foxtail Somersault will start off the night with a pretty, shoe-gazery set.

Also, stay tuned, as we’re debuting one song, “Harder Hit,” from our new album this Wednesday, exclusively on MySpace (myspace.com/loquat). We hope you’ll like. Later this summer, the song will also go on a compilation CD as a free giveaway to 50,000 Bonaroo festival attendees. More news to come!

    • Hi. A little Loquat update: We’ve got seven songs done and five to go for our next album. For the last batch, we’re recording drums and bass at a San Francisco studio called Different Fur, which has been around for over 30 years. A lot of very different musicians have recorded there, like Brian Eno, Stevie Wonder, Dead Kennedys and Phil Collins. I bet they have some good stories. Anyway, this will happen in June, and then it’s back to the Rondos’ studio to record everything else. In the meantime, we’re going to be playing a show in SF in mid-July. We'll be back in action for real in a couple months, so please stay tuned.

    • Hi there. It’s been so long that it’s too late to even wish you a happy new year. Sorry. But the long absence is over. First up, we have our first show in 10 months (!) for the Noise Pop festival. We’ll be debuting new songs from our next album (title TBA) at Thee Parkside’s Noise Pop happy hour in San Francisco. Check out more upcoming shows on the “tourdates” page of this site.

In recording news, we’re working on another batch of four new songs for the record next week with the Rondo Brothers (www.rondobrothers.com). We hope to be finished with the album before summer. More news about that to come....
